Roxane West
Managing Partner
Hi, I am Roxane West. I am a veteran district special education leader with a track record of building systems that transform opportunities and outcomes for students with disabilities. I have served as the Special Services Director in DeSoto Parish Public Schools and Evangeline Parish Public Schools.
During my time in those roles, I also served on the executive leadership team of the Louisiana Association of Special Education Administration (LASEA) as the treasurer and vice-president. As a leader of LASEA, I worked with special education leaders across the state in changing district mindsets about access and equity for students with disabilities.
I began my career as a preschool special education teacher and then moved into an elementary teaching position later on. I became a certified educational diagnostician and served in a pupil appraisal role for 20 years before moving into a district coordinator role for response to intervention.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my four children and my seven grandchildren. Family is important to me, and I cherish the moments I spend with my loved ones. In the rare moments that we are not spending time with family, my husband and I love to travel, try new cuisines and experience different cultures. My sense of adventure and openness to new experiences has helped broaden my horizons and gain new perspectives. I am passionate about creating inclusive and accessible learning environments that support each student's academic achievement.
My goal for the future is to continue to promote access and equity for students with disabilities and provide all students with the tools they need to succeed. By creating these environments, I am helping to ensure that all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential and succeed in their transition to adulthood.
